Senior Manager, Planning & Strategy

We are seeking a proactive, structured and organized Senior Manager, Planning & Strategy with a curious mindset and the confidence to speak up to support the Fido brand and the Fido Senior Leadership Team to deliver an end-to-end planning process, and facilitate achieving the team’s overall mandate and vision.

You are a self-starter, big-picture thinker who can think strategically at the highest level while simultaneously executing on the day to day actions necessary to achieve our goals. You are an outstanding team player who knows how to build strong relationships across all organizational levels.

This position reports to the Director, Wireless Strategy, Planning & Governance and works very closely with the Fido Senior Leadership Team. Key activities will include:

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Lead the Wireless end-to-end planning process, outlining timelines and working with Stakeholders to produce the Quarterly & Annual Operating plan.
  • Communicate and align on the strategic plan and direction with cross-functional teams.

Strategy & Business Updates

  • Provide strategic thought leadership and story telling.
  • Provide insights and narrative on weekly & monthly performance drivers.
  • Support & coordinate the preparation of all executive review materials.
  • Provide a lens across all functions of the business to guide sound decision making and strategy recommendations.
  • Manage, keep track and provide updates of strategic priorities and workstreams execution.
  • Live & breathe the Fido Wireless business.

Project Management

  • Run the business operations by creating robust processes so that each Fido team is interconnected and work harmoniously to common KPI’s.
  • Support strategic assignments, ad-hoc programs and projects as required.

Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively and effectively across the organization.
  • Take initiative willingly in identifying and driving forward opportunities.
  • Drive and facilitate the development of team culture; work with comms and HR to build programs to develop the brand.

Run key meetings

  • Facilitate all business meetings (e.g., Weekly Results, Fido SLT, Fido Open Mic, Town Halls, Offsites, etc.), managing the agenda, capturing & tracking action items to ensure they are completed by the relevant owner(s).
  • Coordinate the weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual calendar and meetings to ensure that all deliverables are met as per the Consumer Wireless Governance model.

What you will bring:

  • 7-10 years professional experience in strategy, planning, marketing, product and/or communication.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Canadian Wireless industry.
  • 2-3 years of experience with executive presentation (presenting to C-level executives and Senior Leadership Teams).
  • Ability to interact and influence senior leaders in a high paced environment managing diverse activities.
  • Proactive mindset; see what needs to be done and take initiative.
  • Proven success in managing and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional storytelling, deck development and presentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics and “tell the story” in a succinct manner.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, being able to drive insights from available data and effectively communicate their value to the business.
  • Outstanding analytics skills, being comfortable performing complex data analysis and presenting to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with experience succeeding in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to define and prioritize initiatives while working cross-functionally and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong cross-functional team management and program skills, with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to turn concepts into a plan.
  • Comfortable working in a straight line and dotted line reporting structure.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Passionate to drive change and results.
  • Managerial courage.
