We are looking for a strong leader to join our Wireless Project Management team as "Sr Manager, Project Management". Our mandate is to ensure we consistently work as One Rogers to deliver project excellence with urgency and disciplined execution.  Our approach focuses on the quality end-to-end experience of our employees and customers, sustainable performance, value  and continuous improvement.  In addition to being able to manage simultaneous complex programs, successful candidates are able to lead, mentor and manage a team of project management professionals delivering their project portfolios. 


What you will be doing:


  • Build and foster a trusted partnership with sponsors and key stakeholders, proactively managing stakeholder relationships.

  • Own, direct and manage overall/cross-functional activities and budget to deliver Wireless projects/programs

  • Provide regular visibility to project status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics) on a standard cadence through status reporting and project reviews.

  • Manage and provide portfolio oversight and governance, partner with stakeholders to understand priorities and resource needs.

  • Proactively review the performance of projects within the portfolio, working with all stakeholders to mitigate issues and risks to deliver on scope, schedule and cost objectives.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of project management professionals by providing guidance, direction and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.

  • Ability to set annual performance targets for individuals and the team, setting development plans and conducting performance reviews

  • Work in collaboration with team members within PMO Centre of Excellene to drive continuous improvement of project management practices. 

  • Participate in the development and implementation of processes and change management activities.


What you have:


  • 10+ years end to end management of large-scale, complex programs/portfolios in medium/large organizations

  • 5+ years people management experience with demonstrated success in coaching and developing high performing teams.

  • Experience managing Channel and Business readiness activities required for product/project launch

  • Experience managing program/projects involving one or more of digital (web, app), IT and wireless network platforms

  • Experience in every phase of a project including initiating, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and closing all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of projects.

  • Experience leading agile, waterfall and hybrid projects

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or other Agile certification preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or years of equivalent experience

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with high energy, strong executive presence, and proven ability to create effective, cross-organization relationships, collaborating and communicating across business and technology stakeholders.

  • Very strong process and problem-solving leadership skills at both strategic and functional levels.

  • Ability to succeed in challenging and ambiguous situations and thrive in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Ability to effectively engage, influence, negotiate and communicate program / project reviews to Senior and C-level leadership team

  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain a team of top talent.

  • Proven ability to direct cross-functional teams and act as path of escalation and resolution.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite.

  • Knowledge of JIRA project management tool a definite asset.

  • Ability to work at Brampton Technology Campus and 1 Mount Pleasant office locations as required by assigned projects
