What we’re looking for

As Canadian readership shifts from print to digital, Rogers Media has reorganized to accelerate digital growth. As part of this, the Rogers Media Digital Content & Publishing division is now organized by pillars. The Lifestyle pillar—responsible for producing highly engaging content for Chatelaine, Canada’s largest women’s current affairs and lifestyle brand—is looking for an ambitious, social media-obsessed editor with serious hustle. You understand tone, are fluent in all major and emerging platforms and you always know what’s trending. Your mission? To drive more Canadian women, particularly in their 30s and 40s, to Chatelaine’s smart, funny, award-winning content.


What you’ll be doing


•Developing, supporting and maintaining Chatelaine’s social media strategy

•Contributing daily story ideas and resurfacing existing content based on trending topics

•Increasing engagement and referral rates across platforms

•Maintaining Chatelaine’s tone across platforms — knowing when to use humour, and when a subject needs to be treated with extra sensitivity

•Analyzing metrics and adapting overall digital content strategies accordingly

•Liaising with marketing lead on Search Engine Marketing and social boosting

•Compiling and analyzing monthly traffic reports

•Writing and overseeing sponsored posts for sales and the custom content group

•Ensuring that Chatelaine surpasses its 2017 traffic goals


What you have


•A post-secondary degree

•Three years of editorial experience, including social media management, at a major media brand

•Fluency in analytics tools such as Chartbeat, Omniture and BuzzSumo

•The ability to identify trending topics and rising trends using tools such as Google Trends

•The ability to nimbly switch strategies based on minute-by-minute metrics analysis

•A High proficiency in WordPress and PhotoShop

•A strong understanding of native analytics tools across all major social media platforms

•Exceptional communication skills and a high-comfort level interacting with audiences promptly and respectfully

•Strong drive and initiative

•Excellent time-management skills

•A willingness to embrace change with a positive, can-do attitude
