The Social Media Producer will be responsible for creating compelling content to enhance Sportsnet’s social media platforms, using multimedia assets such as images, graphics, animated GIFs and video to engage, inform and entertain our audience.


Other responsibilities include:

Maintain Sportsnet’s social channels with a focus on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Promote editorial content on social media to maximize Sportsnet’s digital audiences.

Drive engagement on the various social channels by interacting with audience, leagues and teams.

Devise social media content plans & storyboards for coverage of live events.

Deliver branded content across all Sportsnet social media platforms.

Ensure Sportsnet remains on top of latest social media, sports and pop culture trends.

Maintain Sportsnet’s guide for social media best practices.




Minimum 3 years in producing digital content with a focus on social media.

Editorial experience with a passion for storytelling and knowledge of sports.

Strong knowledge of photo and video editing tools, such as Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and SnappyTV.

Excellent people management skills with the ability to engage across all levels from the frontline team to on-air talent.

Ability to integrate existing & emerging digital trends & tools to enhance content.

Embrace change and welcome fresh perspective in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Have a flexible schedule with the ability to work occasional nights/weekends and overtime.

Ability to multitask and work under stress to meet strict tight deadlines.

Graduate of a multimedia, broadcasting or journalism program or equivalent experience.
