Rogers For Business is seeking a Data Centre Sales Specialist (Cloud/Data Centre Solutions) responsible for medium and large commercial clients in the Greater Toronto Area.  The successful candidate will have extensive Data Centre and network infrastructure hands-on & design experience and customer relationship skills for enterprise business accounts.

 

The candidate will report to the Senior Manager, Sales Specialists and will be an integral part of a sales team responsible for gathering customer business and technical requirements, designing comprehensive server and storage solutions, delivering sales presentations, presenting technical information about products and services, conducting product demonstrations, product evaluations, and collaborating on RFP and RFI responses.  The candidate must have a strong understanding and experience with server and storage architecture, as well as cloud and their demand to satisfy business applications and management systems.  This also includes applications that reside on customer premise, in data centres or in the cloud. 

 

What you will be doing:

Sales:

  • Work strategically with our Direct Sales teams, leveraging your technical knowledge to promote and win business in competitive situations
  • Research and prepare for all customer meetings
  • Actively participate in discovery meetings, reviewing the customer’s technical requirements using a consultative approach
  • Record/document all requirements and outcomes from meetings (incl. use of Salesforce.com)
  • Leverage all Rogers resources to help you design and document the best possible Rogers solution(s) based on the customer requirements (business, budgetary and technical).
  • Clearly communicate the value of your solution to the prospective customer and promote the benefits of and endorse Rogers in collaboration with the AE
  • Clearly communicate how best to differentiate Rogers against the competition in each given scenario
  • Ensure appropriate setting of customer expectations with respect to product solution, Rogers and Customer provisioning activities and reasonable provisioning timelines
  • Create compelling financial business cases in order to assist customers during evaluation of Rogers solutions

 

Training:

  • Identify the need for, and create and deliver supplemental product training as required
  • Identify skill and process gaps within the organization providing constructive feedback to Leadership

 

Product Development:

  • Act as a Product Prime, contributing as a “Subject Matter Expert” for an assigned product portfolio as required
  • liaise between the Product Manager and the Specialist teams to ensure all information/queries exchanged are filtered, tracked, and documented for ongoing learning
  • Contribute to New Product Introduction by supplying field expertise
  • Proactively provide feedback to the Product team on product gaps as well as any relevant competitive, market and customer feedback

 

What you will bring:

  • Extensive experience with Data Centre and Cloud services and commercial products
  • Sales experience in data centre industry
  • Post-Secondary education in IT, Telecom, Computer Science or related field considered an asset
  • Working understanding of Server and Storage Architecture, Common Application Design, Network Access technologies, Routing and Switching technology, Network Security, Virtualization Technologies, IT Budgeting and Planning, IT service management frameworks
  • Knowledge of Name Severs, Authentication Servers, Mail Servers, Accounting servers and Corporate Web Servers
  • Working knowledge VMware, Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Any Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, ITIL, Amazon Web Services or other IT Certification would be an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and third parties
  • Ability to take ownership of sales opportunities, and to sell, persuade, negotiate, and help close business
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to respond to customer inquiries via telephone as well as email in a professional and efficient manner
  • Ability to create and interpret customer billing documents and reports
  • Ability to write technical proposals and respond to complex RFP documents
  • Use of a personal vehicle for business purposes is required
  • Knowledge of Internet networking and multiple Internet applications such as Ethernet, MPLS, routing technologies
  • In depth knowledge of Security concepts
