Senior Collections and Recoveries Business Analyst - Rogers Bank

 

Reporting to the Manager, Collections and Recoveries, the Collections and Recoveries Business Analyst is a key contributor and has shared accountability for the design and day to day operations and performance of delinquent and charged off credit card accounts issued by Rogers Bank.

 

The role works in partnership with internal resources and outsourced service providers for service delivery, ensuring program design is optimized to deliver the needs of the business with processing accuracy, meeting compliance and regulatory requirements, while providing the services on budget, and providing an excellent customer experience for Rogers’ customers.

 

The role is accountable for collections and recoveries account servicing and strategy performance, collections related complaint resolution, issue identification and resolution, operational reporting, user system access controls and governance, audit, vendor performance and service levels. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a first point of contact for collections related matters for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Involved in new projects to provide high quality and cost-effective service delivery that meets regulatory, business, and customer expectations.
  • Support in the development and implementation of collection and recovery strategies to ensure credit losses and recoveries are managed to plan, and that internal and external collections practices are in accordance with the Bank’s risk appetite while minimizing customer friction.
  • Provide operational oversight of service providers ensuring adherence with regulatory requirements and industry practices.
  • Produce reporting and analytics to assess data and provide insights related to key business metrics.
  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including performance trend analysis in support of the Bank’s business objectives. 
  • Make change recommendations including champion/challenger strategies to improve operational efficiencies and program results. Measurement of results versus expectations.
  • Support the business in identifying and implementing systems and processes to enhance the customer experience and bring to market new systems capabilities to allow greater customer self-service.
  • Evaluating operational performance to assess potential performance issues/opportunities. 
  • Quality assurance of service provider performance by way of business reviews, audits, and onsite and remote inspections.
  • Identifying and delivering process improvements to drive operational efficiencies, new system capabilities, and enhanced customer experiences.
  • Assist in developing budgets and forecasting for all things related to collections and recoveries. 
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new business processes and systems in support of proposed regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
  • May be required from time to time after hours (24/7/365 days) for production issue identification and resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • University under-graduate degree or college diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of collections and recoveries experience, preferably in credit cards and in an outsourced service provider environment.
  • Proficiency with various reporting and data tools and sources including but not limited to excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to adapt and reprioritize in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to present effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A natural aptitude for innovation and process improvement.
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative matrix management environment.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
