Rogers is seeking a Senior Business System Analyst, to work on project delivery for the Sports and Media Group. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Sports Platform at the Rogers. This individual will be expected to act as the lead BA on various initiatives within the Sports and Media group. This role will be accountable for working closely with our application vendor and internal IT teams to design, develop and implement system enhancements.


Business Systems Analyst

  • Apply extensive knowledge of systems, software programs, business strategies and IT architecture to help the team to maximize productivity and communication.
  • Determine operational and architectural objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating secure output requirements and formats
  • Collect, collate and analyze business, technical information and emerging industry trend to contribute towards project deliveries on time and within scope.
  • Conduct adhoc data analysis when required
  • Analyse existing workflows, processes and controls for optimization and write improved procedures for review and approval
  • Draw connections between research/data results to business priorities and initiative
  • Maintain professional, technical and security knowledge by keeping abreast of professional publications and best practices.
  • Create detailed documentation on systems, that support the team knowledge database

What you will bring: 

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to focus with close attention to detail 
  • 4+ years of experience in SAFe Agile and Waterfall project management.
  • Strong experience working on SDLC projects, ability to write user stories and documentation using JIRA and Confluence
  • Solid understanding of application and infrastructure workflows.
  • Experience working in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and tight timelines
  • Proven ability to think strategically as well as interpret information to develop, recommend and implement innovative, yet feasible solutions
  • Analytical Skills: able to analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources in order to compile a full view of business needs as it maps to system capabilities
  • Experience analyzing data and identifying areas of improvement
  • Ability to take data from various sources and compile meaningful reports
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting stakeholder expectations
  • Effective communicator, ability to express ideas clearly or explain issues and how it impacts our business and customer.
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn and understand concepts, multi-task, investigate issues, solve problems, make decisions, manage processes, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Teamwork: ability to influence peers and able to build strong relationships outside of immediate reporting structure to work together to create the best possible outcome.
