Senior Manager – Device Pricing, Commercial Strategy

Reporting to the Senior Director, Device Pricing the candidate will be directly responsible for the end to end management and oversight of device pricing tactics and strategy for CBU wireless.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and manage a team of up to five direct reports who are focused on developing, managing and implementing device pricing strategy and tactics across Rogers, Fido and Chatr brands
  • Manage the development and evolution of device pricing strategy
    • Outline, update, and communicate guiding principles for device pricing that align to the overall CBU wireless strategy
    • Leverage established frameworks to clearly explain how chosen strategies will impact the performance of key metrics
    • Provide intellectual and thought leadership around key wireless device pricing strategies and tactics
  • Manage the development and maintenance of quarterly proactive device pricing tactical roadmaps as part of the quarterly planning cycle
    • Ensure quarterly hardware roadmaps deliver on quarterly priorities and objectives
    • Continuously socialize quarterly proactive roadmaps for alignment with key stakeholders
    • Create compelling, complete and accurate presentation material for proactive & reactive hardware programs on a frequent basis to secure alignment and approvals through standard governance forms
  • Manage the continuous evaluation of competitor device pricing to ensure market competitiveness
    • Respond quickly to competitive price gaps by assessing materiality, identifying + sizing options, and recommending any reactive hardware pricing tactics to address gaps as necessary
  • Ensure all device pricing information, program documentation, forecasts and reporting are accurate, reasonable, comprehensible, and completed in a timely manner
  • Leverage team to produce reporting and analytics on key device programs and metrics
    • Measure performance of device programs vs forecast & business case
    • Present insights to peers & senior management with recommendations on how to improve device pricing programs and strategies going forward
  • Drive collaboration and partnerships across the organization to create unified strategies and plans.
  • Perform ad hoc projects as required 

 

What you bring:

  • An undergraduate business/commerce degree
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with people management preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn and understand concepts, multi-task, investigate issues, solve problems, promote efficiency/automation, make decisions, manage processes, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Forward thinking with a strong ability to see new trends and quickly translate these trends to the company’s strategy
  • Results driven – both short term and long term
  • Driven to Win - Competitive drive to be number one and settle for nothing short.
  • Excellent and proven analytical skills, exceptional problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, and perform well in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to exercise a high degree of business judgment and sound reasoning
  • Demonstrated strong customer service orientation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a demonstrated collaborator
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, or Thinkcell is an asset.
  • Technical aptitude with regard to wireless products and technologies
  • Strong sense of presence. Confident and comfortable working with senior management
  • Positive attitude + enthusiasm & passion for business is a must!
