Rogers Bank, Financial and Emerging Services – Senior Manager, Product Platform

Rogers Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a passion for innovation and customer experience to drive the build of our composable Product Platform.


You'll become the key member of the Rogers Bank Product team working closely with Product Managers, software engineers, and key Technology and Digital partners to deliver the new, composable banking and financial services platform.


Reporting to the Director of Product and Strategy, you'll be in the driver seat for delivering the mission-critical capabilities needed for Rogers to succeed in the new, rapidly changing tech economy. A significant part of your role will be acting as translator between the business and technical worlds, requiring you to quickly context switch between product strategy and customer needs assessment to technically complex problem solving and solution design.


What you'll do:


  • Own and evangelize the product vision for platform frameworks and extensibility.
  • Ensure as new releases become available on the platform are communicated to the engineering teams
  • Collect customer feedback, nurture customer relationships, and bring the voice of the customer to your product development process.
  • Be the subject matter expert internally on platform guidelines and application
  • Act as the Product Owner for scrum development teams, providing direction and prioritization authority
  • Develop and manage your product platform roadmap against the customer product roadmaps, continuously articulating your rationale for prioritization and driving tough tradeoffs decisions to balance competing stakeholder interests.
  • Constantly assess your product-market fit, using customer insights, competitive analysis and your own industry knowledge to adapt to changing conditions and refine your approach.
  • Work within our iterative product development process and take ownership to ensure product delivery deadlines and customer commitments are met.
  • Define detailed business requirements with experience writing and managing stories in Jira/Confluence, and work closely with our software engineers and architects on innovative solutions that take usability and scalability into account.
  • Partner with Technology and Digital partners to develop scaled engineering practices, and defining appropriate SRE models to support Rogers Bank
  • Engage cross-functionally and within the Rogers Bank Product team to ensure flawless go-to-market execution of your roadmap.
  • Keep a watchful eye on your platform's performance, ensuring performance and reliability meets integration partner needs and issues are solved quickly.
  • Own your measures of success, converting your KPIs to actions.


What you'll bring:

  • You have experience developing full-stack software products to market through agile methodology and designing complex workflows and product lifecycles.

  • Comfortable presenting to customers and internal stakeholders, across business and technical audiences.
  • You have a data-informed approach to your work, while also being quick to act and results-driven.
  • You have a strong ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps that drive results.
  • Proficient with the Agile framework and how teams should be working within it.
  • Strong understanding of the development cycle, from concept to deployment and monitoring.
  • Experience with digital architecture including Content Management Systems, Front-end technologies, Backend applications, Cloud-based systems.
  • Experience working with distributed teams.
  • Experience with microservices-based architecture, AWS, Azure, SaaS
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills with ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical professionals.
  • 8+ years of solid experience in building software products or a similar domain.
  • A degree in computer science, commerce, engineering or equivalent experience such as Solution Architecture or Solution Delivery.
