The Rogers Communications team is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, creative senior manager to lead key external and internal communications programs supporting the Technology organization and its priorities. Here’s what you’ll do:

Reporting to the Director, Communications, Technology, you will play an important role in developing and advancing the company’s reputation and supporting the objective to be a world-class Technology provider that offers the best network and customer experiences to even more communities, consumers, and businesses across Canada. Collaborating closely across Communications, and with teams such as Technology, Rogers for Business, Connected Home, Consumer Wireless, HR and Government Relations, you’ll help craft compelling narratives and find creative ways to communicate them to key stakeholders and influencers.

Key accountabilities:

  • Deliver on a strategic external and internal communications program for the Technology organization to build internal culture, corporate reputation, and support the Company’s objectives
  • Lead proactive and reactive media relations activities around priority Technology projects and announcements
  • Build and maintain well-established relationships within the organization and with key media, industry peers, communities and other partners to identify opportunities
  • Work with the wider communications team to identify and manage issues, develop statements, background briefs and talking points on a broad range of issues
  • Work closely with brand and marketing teams to develop and execute on integrated communications plans, incorporating earned, owned and paid media activities, with a strong focus on creative and engaging storytelling
  • Represent communications on key cross-functional teams and projects requiring issues or reputation management support
  • Create compelling media messaging to prepare Rogers spokespeople
  • Provide day-to-day advice and counsel to senior executives, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Contribute to best-in-class communications practices and deliver flawlessly executed communications initiatives
  • Help build culture and employee engagement through internal communications programs that include town halls and employee forums, written communications, HR and change management communications

What you have:

  • Strong experience in corporate communications or equivalent fields with proven success
  • Strong knowledge and a proven track record in media relations, issues management, employee communications and stakeholder relations
  • Passion for storytelling and sharing compelling narratives with key audiences, stakeholders and influencers
  • You’re a creative thinker who brings fresh ideas to the table and you can implement new ideas
  • You’re an excellent team player that enjoys collaborating with different people across an organization
  • Manage multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, corporate environment
  • Telecom/technology or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
