Do you have a desire for your work to have a true impact on key business decisions? The Competitive Intelligence (CI) team is seeking a passionate, driven individual to assist with gathering, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on competitive information related to the Connected Home (Cable/Internet) side of the organization. We’re looking for someone who thinks beyond just the numbers, who can clearly and articulately bring the stories within the data to life. Together, we’ll make more possible.

 

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Competitive Intelligence, you will work closely with stakeholders in Marketing, Pricing, Sales, and Retention to ensure that the business is well-informed of changes to the competitive landscape and how those changes affect their goals and objectives. 

 

What you will be doing:

 

You will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data relating to Rogers, its brands and competitors, in order to maintain an accurate and up-to-date story of the competitive landscape.  To help you achieve these goals, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Reviewing various sources of intelligence for changes in Connected Home (residential) pricing and promotional offers
  • Interpreting the data to assess impacts to Rogers and key metrics
  • Examining trends and performing analysis of key information in order to provide strategic recommendations
  • Creating and communicating updates via email, instant messaging, presentation, over the phone or in person
  • Maintaining a database of competitive updates that chronicles the history of the competitive landscape by brand and region
  • Creating reports and presentations that will be used to help cross functional teams in creating quarterly plans, making decisions on pricing/promotions, re-sizing sales forecasts and measuring performance
  • Working with key stakeholders to communicate and assess competitive updates
  • Performing mystery shop calls/visits to Rogers brands and competitors
  • Participating in cross functional meetings to provide assistance in assessing competitive landscape
  • Collaborating with the CI team and stakeholders to work towards common goals 

 

What you bring:
 

  • 2+ years in marketing, product/pricing management, sales, or data analytics, preferably within the telecommunications industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Graduate Diploma
  • Strong business acumen, with experience analyzing data sets, synthesizing insights and making actionable recommendations
  • Ability to think strategically, evaluate trends and apply past insights to new scenarios
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to build rapport with cross functional teams and form strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience hitting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
