We're looking to hire a Sr. Business Modelling Analyst as a part of our Revenue, Planning and Analytics team under Rogers Media Sales.  As an experienced analyst, you will be primarily responsible for improving, maintaining and developing new business models.  Additionally, the team’s mandate is to improve the integrity, reporting efficiencies and accuracy of financial and operational data required for meaningful analysis across all MBU Sales business units. You will get exposure to all aspects of the business and be focused on the design, build and support the team’s data analytics tools in Excel, Planning and Data Warehouse Environment.  The ability to source, map and validate data in various dynamic models will be essential for success in this role.  You will also be instrumental in supporting the team with any process changes, and planning.

The portfolio of responsibilities is extensive and requires a well-rounded, versatile candidate capable of excelling in all areas, including planning, reporting, operational controls, strategic analysis, and system development.

What you will do…

  • Understand internal clients’ business processes and business requirements
  • Translate requirements into functional requirements and use cases
  • Design and build Anaplan application models to support business processes
  • Design and build dashboards using visualization tools such as PowerBI, Domo, and Tableau
  • Perform data integration between Rogers’ internal systems and Anaplan and verify relevancy and accuracy
  • Provide hands-on training to end users on Anaplan models and processes
  • Analyze business metrics and logic to submit suggestions for continuous improvements
  • Cross train with the rest of the data team in day to day data operations, writing queries to and transforming the data for use across the organization
  • Design processes and tools to allow data to be more accurate and more accessible
  • Leading special projects / ad-hoc assignments as required

What you will bring…

  • Independent and self-starting individual with the ability to learn on the job and curiosity to challenge status quo
  • Must possess business acumen, strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving and project management skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Financial analysis and modelling experience
  • Experience building models in applications such as: Anaplan, OneStream, Hyperion, Cognos, etc
  • Advanced level Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Experience needed in BI tools such as: PowerBI, Domo and Tableau
  • Knowledge of SQL, data mining software, and macros is an asset
  • Media knowledge is an asset
  • Excel assessment will be required
