Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to directly influence and, in many cases, own, all aspects of concerts and major (non-baseball) events at Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays. In this position, the Sr. Manager, Concerts and Events will be the lead for: concert and event negotiations, contracts, budgets, logistics, concert/event planning and details and concert/event execution.  If you have high attention to detail, enjoy working across collaborative teams, influencing, and shaping the vision for large-scale events and are a music afficionado – this may be the position for you.


Key Accountabilities

  • Manage all aspects of the concert/event; liaise with all internal departments, leading each team to ensure as the venue we are delivering to the promoter/vendor and artist, all while creating memorable fan experiences
  • Manage concert logistics, planning and liaise with external concert promoters or vendors, and collaborate with internal legal team to finalize details of concert/event contracts
  • Responsible for all quotes and communication leading up to the concert
  • Work collaboratively with baseball marketing and events team to manage the overall events calendar ensuring baseball and concerts/events schedule is seamless
  • Work closely with technical production coordinator, ensuring all concert/event builds are provided to the promoter and revisions made upon request
  • Work directly with internal ticketing team and Ticketmaster to ensure concert/event ticket builds are accurate, ticket on sales run smoothly and concerts and events are sold out to maximize revenue
  • Work closely with suites and premium team to maximize revenue of premium sales opportunities
  • Liaise with promoter and work alongside external and internal marketing teams for concert and event announcements, promotions, and contests
  • Manage logistics planning and execution with back of house teams, including, field and ballpark operations, IT, engineering and technical production
  • Work directly as main point of contact for the promoter/vendor as it relates to all aspects of front of house for the concert/event, including security, ticket takers, ushers, concessions, merchandise, fan service, facilities and in-house technical production
  • On concert and event days, lead all internal teams to provide best in class live event experiences to our fans
  • Manage and oversee all budgets, costings, P&L and settlement for the concert/event
  • Create a collaborative culture around live events that drives successful outcomes for both the Club/venue and the promoter
    Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive event experience including 3+ years of managing concerts or events at a similar level and/or direct venue or promoter experience
  • Strong experience and proficient in budgeting and managing fluid financial details
  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Events, Promotions or Marketing preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Team oriented and ability to collaborate across many internal departments
  • Successfully able to lead external teams such as promoters, vendors, contractors, and other third-party groups
  • Strong leadership capabilities to motivate and encourage team members, while building cooperative relationships
  • Strong communicator who can listen and constructively share opinions and feedback
  • Must be capable to deliver in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to sustain long physical days
  • Must be able and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
