Reports To: VP, Strategy & Analytics

Nature and Scope:

The Strategy team is a trusted partner in the development of long- and short-range company strategies, working cross-functionally with the entire business on key initiatives. Our team enables strategy development by providing market, financial, and consumer analyses to the business in order to deliver a strong fact base and logical framework for planning and decision-making.

In this role, the incumbent will regularly:

  • Solve strategic problems new to the organization and new to the incumbent
  • Partner with and advise the most senior leaders in the company
  • Build strong relationships across the business
  • Structure and solve problems following a rigorous and quantitative hypothesis-driven approach
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementation of critical strategic initiatives

 

Examples of potential work, include:

 

  • Designing a new subscription product
  • Developing a business case for a new premium seating space
  • Designing in-stadium fan experiences for families
  • Evaluating new fan-facing technologies
  • Assessing the effectiveness of the Season Ticket Member loyalty program

Job Responsibilities       

  • Lead strategy development, planning, and execution for TBJ Business Operations and individual departments (ticket operations, marketing & sales, fan experience & concessions, corporate partners, and game day operations) by:
    • Outlining organization objectives
    • Identifying opportunities
    • Developing execution plans
  • Lead cross-functional teams to solve important business challenges by:
    • Ensuring a common understanding of the goals and objectives
    • Develop approaches
    • Soliciting involvement and input from relevant stakeholders
    • Designing solutions
  • Own and execute strategic projects by:
    • Identifying and framing problems
    • Conducting market research and gathering input from stakeholders of all levels
    • Performing quantitative analyses
    • Summarizing recommendations
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Strategy & Analytics team by:
    • Coaching junior members of the team
    • Developing new capabilities
    • Staying up to date with industry trends
    • Playing an active role in the development of team culture

Target Candidate Profile

  • Post-secondary education
  • 3+ years’ experience in business analytics, management consulting or a related field
  • Critical thinker with an ability to effectively communicate complex concepts
  • Team player with a willingness and curiosity to push past assigned work
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data to support decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop junior resources
  • Passionate about solving challenging business problems
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
