Position Overview

The Toronto Blue Jays Technology Department supports users, infrastructure systems and business applications used by departments throughout the organization.  The Systems Administrator will be responsible for a portfolio of business applications.  This individual will be responsible for becoming the subject matter expert within the portfolio, providing daily application support as well as perform patching, upgrading and testing/QA activities.

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to work most, if not all, evenings, weekends and holidays throughout the baseball season when home games are scheduled.  Additional evening and weekend work may be required for all other events taking place at Rogers Centre during the season and in the off-season as well.  Interested applicants should submit both a resume and cover letter outlining their interest for this particular role.





• Act as point of contact for the portfolio of applications

• Perform support and maintenance activities as required for the application portfolio

• Take ownership of user problems and be pro-active when dealing with user issues

• Create and execute changes in accordance with change management processes

• Ensure applications adhere to relevant security and access requirements

• Utilize Service Now to manage all support requests, Incidents and system changes



• Work effectively in cross-functional teams and assist in the identification/implementation of effective technology solutions to meet the business goals of the organization

• Gather and document business/technical requirements using structured techniques and methodologies

• Develop documentation and train end users on best practices of newly implemented solutions

• Manage third-party support relationships with application vendors

• Continually researching and learning current and future technology trends




• Critical thinker with excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• Confident communicator that can explain technology to non-technical audiences

• Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent / conflicting priorities

• Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

• Legally able to work in Canada


The following qualifications would be an asset, but are not required:

• Knowledge of Data Management fundamentals and Data Storage principles including proficiency with SQL queries

• Solid foundation in software design and experience in one or more languages (eg. Python, R, Java, JavaScript, PHP)

• Experience with App development and API integrations

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) and their services (AI/ML, API, SaaS, Iaas, PaaS, etc.)

• Experience with some of the following applications is an asset: Salesforce, SharePoint, Tableau, R Studio, SSMS, Microsoft Power Platform
