We’re looking for a passionate sports media content creator to join Sportsnet’s Talent Strategy and Business Relations team in the role of Talent Optimization Producer. This role will support the development and execution of our on-air personality training, sourcing, and utilization strategy at Sportsnet. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing compelling content and optimizing distribution for that content across Sportsnet’s primary and affiliated social media platforms. In this exciting and unique opportunity you will work closely with various on-air personalities, internal departments and external stakeholders on content development and distribution to best entertain and engage Canadian Sports fans and help our team meet the needs of our partner organizations.

What you will do

  • Assist in the research, development, and execution of talent social content including influencer campaigns with media spends
  • Create bespoke content opportunities with external talent including the writing of scripts and creating short form social/digital videos from end-to-end
  • Collaborate with Producers across Sportsnet to gather and best use content from across the Sportsnet network
  • Develop athlete driven content opportunities through understanding and leveraging their personal brand
  • Collaborate with the Sr Director and Lead to build a strategic content calendar to ensure talent leverage and optimize their own content and amplify their teammates
  • Support the growth of Sportsnet’s and its talent’s main and affiliated social channels with a focus on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook
  • Support the promotion of editorial, original, and branded content on social media to maximize Sportsnet’s and its talent’s digital audiences.
  • Support engagement on various social channels by creating opportunities for Sportsnet and affiliated personalities to interreact with each other, our audiences, leagues, players, and teams.
  • Devise and execute social media content plans for commercialization opportunities.
  • Ensure Sportsnet and affiliated on-air staff remain on top of latest social media, sports and pop culture trends.
  • Maintain Sportsnet’s guide for social media best practices.

What you will bring

  • Experience producing digital content with a focus on social media
  • Strong passion and knowledge of the world of sports
  • Strong knowledge of photo and video editing tools, such as Premiere and Photoshop
  • Excellent ability to build relationships and engage with the Sportsnet team and external partners
  • Ability to integrate existing & emerging digital trends & tools to enhance content
  • Embraces change and welcomes fresh perspective in a fast-paced sports media environment
  • Ability to multitask and work under stress to meet strict tight deadlines
  • Have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights/weekends and overtime when necessary
