Television Rights Analyst

Rogers Sports & Media is seeking a talented Television Rights Analyst to join our Programming Team. The Television Rights Analyst will collaborate closely with the Programming department and other key stakeholders to evaluate, document, and track content rights across a variety of media offerings. This position will aid decision-making through strategic analysis and teamwork within an evolving and dynamic Media environment. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical abilities who is interested in business affairs.

 

What you will do...

  • Manage, record, and maintain program content rights in an inventory management database.

  • Maintain a database of contract rights and follow up with third parties, as necessary.

  • Track a consistent volume of agreements and/or amendments for execution.

  • Track and request contract deliverables for various stakeholders.

  • Prepare, document, and reconcile purchase order requests and new supplier setups.

  • Summarize contracts and provide necessary contractual information to various stakeholders upon request.

  • Support the Business Analyst in drafting standard program license agreements as required.

  • Produce and distribute content inventory forecasting to support strategic decisions and advanced planning.

  • Translate data into meaningful reports including financial data, contract rights, and inventory while maintaining integrity.

  • Diligently monitor and analyze multiple program schedules to maximize content utilization and identify variances against forecasts.

  • Validate airings of transmitted programming to ensure all data is reconciled in the broadcast management database.

  • Coordinate monthly analysis of assets and financial costing for period-end financial closings.

  • Actively participate in the broadcast management system release tracking, testing, and quality assurance undertakings.

  • Collaborating on various undertakings, special projects, and ad-hoc assignments.

What you will bring...

  • Previous experience in media content rights administration and financial reporting is considered an asset.

  • Exceptional innovative critical thinking skills.

  • Aptitude to organize and present information clearly and concisely.

  • The ability to develop, maintain, and support reporting and analytic solutions.

  • Adeptness for learning new software and advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel, reporting, and data tools.

  • Ability to work independently and excel in a team environment. 

  • Experience in delivering quality solutions under pressure of tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to evaluate, communicate, and recommend alternatives.

  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism and discretion with sensitivity in handling confidential information.
