Reporting to the EVP, Financial & Emerging Services the Vice President of Emerging Services will have accountability for building and scaling new services and channels, including defining the business plan, building the team, leading the partnerships, driving awareness and adoption, and managing the P&L for these services.  The right candidate will have significant experience in Retail, general management and a strong entrepreneurial track record of initiating and delivering new ideas either in start-ups or enterprise companies.  The ability to stay externally focused, adapt to changing trends in the marketplace and the ability to drive awareness and adoption of new services are also key to the success of this role.  This is a role that needs an approach that delivers innovation, and a willingness to think about how to disrupt the current models in support of the core RCI business goals.

 


The ideal candidate is super-smart, is able to create a vision and drive people to follow, takes initiative and demonstrates excellent judgment. Dealing with ambiguity, adapting to change and balancing competing priorities are crucial to success. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, creative thinking and experienced retail or product executive with a proven track record of effective strategy development working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders in our Wireless and Connected Home portfolios, our internal Marketing and Comms teams and our Technology team.  Being a strong coach and leader with a growth mindset who is able to attract great talent is essential for this role. This position will lead the product, operations and marketing teams to drive the penetration of new models including WeFix, Pro on the Go and future emerging service offerings. 

 

This position will be located in Toronto while benefiting from a flexible work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:


1. Lead Rogers’ efforts with emerging services supporting both our sales and service aspirations – starting with WeFix and Pro on the Go.  Deliver profitable P&L’s on both services in the next 24 months by driving efficient cost structure and building revenue streams.
2. Managing the key partnerships with our external program partners to create joint success and protect the interests of Rogers by maintaining key elements of exclusivity.
3. Monitor developments in external sales and servicing programs, to determine impact on Rogers’ business;
4. Identify and define key insights to attract new customers to adopt these services and develop corresponding campaigns with marketing and the business to drive awareness and usage.
5. Participate in creating a differentiated vision for a continuum of sales and service capabilities across all LOB’s to deliver a better customer experience and new revenue streams to both insulate and innovate in the sales and servicing space for Wireless and Connected Home.
6. Design and Hire a talented team of product and operations experts to drive these programs plus future initiatives.
7. Partner with Rogers Channels teams including CEX, Retail and Care to deliver optimized service experiences for customers.
9. Be the beacon for the possibility for the future experience we provide for customers in being able to bring them sales/services experiences to their home or business that run the gamut from buying, financing, insuring, repairing, replacing or just optimizing their personal technology.

10. Define other areas of emerging services that we can drive innovation and differentiation to support the core business and create moats for the Rogers overall business.


Other Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a retail or product organization
  • General Management skill set


• Superior written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to make complex issues easy to understand for a variety of audiences;
• Extensive experience working with various customer and stakeholder communities and influence others outside of a reporting relationship;
• Familiarity with key issues and challenges facing Retail and Channel Management within Canada and North America;
• Strategic thinking and ability to initiate and implement new ideas by enrolling others in the organization
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
