Vice Preisdent - Sportsnet Sales 

 

Who we're looking for: 

 

The Vice President, Sportsnet Sales is responsible for driving advertising and sponsorship revenue growth across Rogers Sports & Media (RSM) through the leadership of a high-performing sales organization and the delivery of innovative, multi-platform solutions for clients and partners. Through a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence, this role leads the development and execution of customized, integrated campaigns that generate measurable value, strengthen partnerships, and enhance fan engagement across premier sports properties, all in the name of improving profitability for Sportsnet

 

This role has oversight of sales strategy and execution across all major sports assets and partnerships, including the NHL, NBA, MLB, UFC and additional sports platforms and teams.

 

What you'll do: 

  • Meet or exceed advertising and sponsorship revenue objectives for Sportsnet & NHL across all platforms and properties.
  • Own sales strategy, execution, and performance across the full sports portfolio, branded content, and emerging platforms.
  • Increase market share year-over-year through disciplined execution and innovative go-to-market strategies.
  • Drive incremental revenue through strategic partnerships and new business development initiatives.
  • Leverage the strength of multiple platforms and brands as a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Ideate and deliver creative, integrated solutions aligned with advertisers’ and marketers’ business objectives.
  • Identify, develop, and launch new revenue streams from existing and new clients.
  • Improve client ROI through insight-driven, performance-oriented solutions.
  • Lead sales transformation in response to ongoing industry and consumer behavior shifts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external partners, including sports teams and leagues.
  • Foster trusted relationships with senior client and agency decision-makers to support long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across production, programming, digital, branded content, legal, marketing, and other business units across Rogers.
  • Serve as a visible, credible leader and ambassador for Rogers Sports & Media in the marketplace.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of sales development and execution professionals to achieve high performance and sustained growth.
  • Establish clear accountability through defined goals , targets, and best-in-class sales practices.
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and solutions-focused culture that encourages innovation and high standards of execution.


What you'll bring: 

  • 10–15 years of progressive sales leadership experience, with a strong preference for a sports sales and revenue‑generation background, ideally within sports media, and a multi‑platform commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated success driving sponsorship, advertising, and partnership revenue across integrated channels.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, diplomacy, and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Highly skilled at navigating complexity, managing multiple concurrent initiatives, and negotiating persuasively in a fast‑paced, results‑driven sports and media landscape.
  • Strong communicator with executive presence, capable of delivering recommendations and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading teams through change and driving effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic, forward-thinking leader with strong industry insight and the ability to anticipate market challenges and opportunities.
  • Results‑oriented, people‑focused leader with the ability to develop top sales talent, inspire teams, and consistently deliver against ambitious revenue and growth
    targets.
