The National Format Director, JACK will lead the format’s on air and digital experience, responsible for strategic direction, talent, content and programming.  This is a leadership role and requires a proven track record in radio programming and multi-platform content creation.




  • Day to day programming of JACK 96.9 Vancouver
  • Lead national programming initiatives & innovations across all platforms
  • Work with Marketing & Creative to create streamlined and consistent advertising, marketing and promotion materials for each station within the JACK format
  • Work with Production teams to create streamlined National Imaging and Content branding
  • Provide and support cross-promotional targeted content and ensure National team is providing value to Rogers initiatives
  • Embed Rogers Vision & Values into national team
  • Develop targeted  on-air, online and social media content for the format
  • Partner with Insights team on questionnaire design and the strategic research for format planning
  • Stay informed on general trends in industry and regulatory changes/updates
  • Coaching and development of  Local Station Program Directors and On-Air talent
  • Develop National programming and promotional initiatives to deliver ratings and revenue across all stations within the JACK format
  • Collaborate with Sales, Promotions and Commercial Programming to develop national promotions and revenue generating initiatives in content




  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in radio programming or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience programming management in radio programming or a related fie
  • Proven track record in developing and growing content brands
  • Demonstrable experience in developing talent and content creation teams
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with multiple stakeholders, and excellent editorial judgment
  • Ability to analyse ratings and research data, make business decisions based on analysis; sound judgement and quality decision-making skills
