Are you a self-starter who wants to break into major market radio? NEWS 1130 has your next job! We are looking for a part-time overnight anchor. This role reports to the Morning Show Managing Editor and works out of our studios in Vancouver.



  • Deliver overnight newscasts in a credible, knowledgeable, and entertaining manner.
  • Make phone calls, do interviews, chase stories, and create line-ups based on the changing editorial direction of the news cycle
  • Write and voice stories for the Morning Show at the direction of the on-shift producer
  • Work a standard 10pm-5am shift Thursday to Sunday and be available for other days and shifts plus vacation/illness relief at the direction of NEWS 1130 management.



  • Graduate of an accredited broadcast journalism program with at least one year experience in a radio newsroom in Canada
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A vibrant social media presence and the ability to use social media to track down stories and contacts
  • The ability to work alone for the majority of the shift
  • Strong time management and technical skills
  • Familiarity with the Burli Newsroom system an asset but not a requirement
