The Regional Safety Advisor's primary responsibility is to lead the implementation of Rogers safety programs in the region and support frontline operations. Additionally, the Advisor will act as a source of guidance and information for Safety Committees, Human Resources, and Operations.
What you'll do:
- Facilitate safety committee functions and responsibilities.
- Provide expertise to managers and employees on the identification and control of hazards.
- Support Operations and Safety Managers in planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on safety programs.
- Lead and guide the reporting, investigation, closure and tracking of workplace incidents in the region.
- Maintain expertise in safety legislation and best practices, and understand their impact on operations.
What you'll have:
- University degree, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety;
- Minimum 5-7 years safety experience;
- Possession of, or working towards, Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation;
- Experience in providing technical safety support to field operations;
- Experience in the telecommunications industry is an asset;
- Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills;
- Proven ability to work independently, use critical thinking, take initiative and be resourceful;
- Strong ability to engage leaders and drive the implementation of policies and programs;
- Demonstrated communication skills and ability to effectively deal with all levels in an organization;
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint;
- Ability to travel within the region;
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, and reliable access to a personal vehicle.
